The Superyacht Cup is a truly unique gathering of some of the world’s largest privately owned sailing yachts. The Superyacht Cup Palma is the longest running Superyacht regatta in Europe and has attracted over 200 of the world’s largest and most prestigious yachts during its 14 years, attracting the yachting media spotlight to shine on this exclusive and glamorous sailing event.

For the 2010 Superyacht Cup, around 20 Superyachts are expected, including the spectacular Maltese Falcon which is due to attend for the second time.

July 22 – 25, 2012

The Royal Yacht Squadron (founded in 1815) and Informa Yacht Group, organisers of the Superyacht Cup Events, will hold a Special Superyacht Cup Limited Edition 2012 regatta in Cowes on the Isle of Wight prior to the start of the 2012 London Olympics. Cowes, a world-famous yachting location, is the perfect venue for this spectacular gathering of the world’s most prestigious superyachts.

The event has been carefully planned to take place just before the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London on 27th July 2012, and the start of the Olympic sailing races in Weymouth on 28th July. Participating yachts may opt to head up the Thames to London afterwards for the Opening Ceremony, or they may prefer to head down to the sailing venue in Weymouth. Either way, you can guarantee that the combination of the Superyacht Cup Cowes and the Olympics means that this is the place to be for top class sailing and to enjoy all the excitement that the sport offers.
